Our first time at La Jolla Art & Wine Festival, and we couldn't be more excited! A two day show for art, wine, food, and music. Come spend a beautiful San Diego Fall weekend with your loved ones in one of the most beautiful beach towns in the state!
Please join us on Friday, October 7th from 6pm-9pm at the MK Envision Galleries for their Grand Opening, and our first fine art gallery installation! Come visit us in Leucadia on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 10am-5pm, space 19! LeucadiART is a juried arts show highlighting a small number of fine artists celebrating the spirit and beauty of San Diego coastal living. New pieces, old favorites - a great way to wrap up summer!
Come visit one of San Diego's best juried art shows - ArtWalk NTC Liberty Station! Our fourth year here, this is our home town show, and our favorite. This is our first show of 2016, and we have some new artwork, images, and media - along with old favorites. It's a great way to spend part of a beautiful San Diego weekend!
Ocean Beach is home, and we are doing everything we can to make sure we have a strong presence here! We had a great month-long run at Culture Brewing in April with awesome turnout and support AND we are in a super sweet new shop on Niagara called Teeter - west of Nati's right before the pier. To make it a 2015 trifecta, we will be showing at the OB Street Fair for the first time!
New and old favorites will be available in a variety of media including brushed aluminum, acrylic face mount, canvas giclée, and Arches® watercolor paper.
OB means a lot to us - most of my images are taken at Sunset Cliffs, Dog Beach, Bermuda Street, and in and around the neighborhood. So come take a look - visit us in Space #20 at the corner of Cable and Niagara Streets. Spend a fun Sunday in one of San Diego's most unique beach communities - great food, good eats, music, and art!
Our third time back - and this time as a featured Artist! This is an amazing annual event - great ocean-inspired art, eats, and beverages. Don't miss it!
The first show of 2015! Come see new ocean-inspired beachradish images® and new media at the Carlsbad Village Faire, Sunday May 3rd - Fun for the whole family!
Our first solo exhibition, "One Fine San Diego Day" in our home town of OB! The show will be up at Culture Brewing Co. for the whole month of April with a couple of non-profit pop-ups (04/20, 04/28) - so stop in, grab a beer, and take a look at some ocean-inspired art photography representing our beautiful coastline. All images are for sale at local's only special pricing - click through for details!
Bliss 101 is hosting a "Meet the Artist" evening! If you haven't been to the store and love an ocean-inspired home, you'll really enjoy this spot ... from jewelry to ceramics to furniture to art, Helen and her team have something for every one and every home.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all in person and unveiling the first set of new 2015 images!

Our LAST show of 2014! (The next show will be April, 2015 ...)
Come see us in Tent Spaces 902 & 904 on the corner of H Street and Hwy 101 in Encinitas! We have several new First Impressions collection images along with old favorites. If you've been thinking about an image for a while, here is your change to see it in person!
For the holidays, we are offering 12"x18", unmatted Arches® Aquarelle Cotton Rag prints, professionally framed in reclaimed barn wood. The final size is 17"x23" - it's a great size for a small space - for your own home, or for an ocean-minded friend.
Finally, if there are particular images that you've seen before and would like to know if we will have them available at this show, please don't hesitate to CONTACT me. Custom orders often take 2-3 weeks to complete, so please keep this in mind if you are considering holiday gifts.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Festival!
Tent spaces 56 and 57 between 13th & 14th Streets on Camino Del Mar. Admission to the Art Stroll is FREE ... a great way to spend a Sunday!
To celebrate the show in Del Mar, we will be highlighting two Del Mar images: "TrainSpotting" and "Training Waves", each available in 24"x36" sizes.
Three brand new images from Torrey Pines State Beach will be available for the first time, also on Arches®, and as open edition 8"x12" prints.
There will be several new Arches® prints - 16"x24" framed with Conservation Clear UV glass, and reclaimed barn wood frames. Some will also have a new, up cycled hand-crafted pallet wood frame. If you like the barn wood, these are beautiful - rustic, locally hand-crafted, with warm honey/grey tones (see below).
We will be showing a brand new FIRST IMPRESSIONS image, "Coastal Vines", available as a 24"x36" acrylic face mount. This one has a very different color palette reminiscent of the moon glow over the water.
Others from the series will be available as 12"x18" or 20"x30" acrylic face mount images - framed in reclaimed barn wood or free-floating.
There will be one "Silver Linings", 48"x20" acrylic face mount in a reclaimed barn wood frame. The 60" version sold!
Finally, we will have small quantities of open edition 8"x12" prints, matted and framed, as well as limited edition 12"x18" prints. There will be a few images on brushed aluminum ("Day's End", "Wait", and "Saturday") as well. If there is a particular image and media in which you are interested and want to see if it will be available, please CONTACT me! Hope to see you there!
The show that started it all! Come visit us in Tent Space 326, 327 right across from Solare under the pine trees (on the corner of Decatur & Roosevelt)!
"Silver Linings" will be available in one of the largest sizes - bring the ocean right into your home. It is a unique image, taken at Sunset Cliffs just after a rare San Diego rainstorm, backlit by a beautiful rainbow. We've framed it in reclaimed barn wood to add some warmth; it's a gorgeous piece!
We also have the gallery images below on Arches® watercolor cotton paper. These 16"x24" images are unmatted, and framed in reclaimed barn wood, for a final framed dimension of 22"x30". The Arches® paper is a unique print medium to us, and it complements the images beautifully.
What about acrylic face mount images? We have them! 20"x30" images, along with smaller 12"x18" images, each with the option of a barn wood frame.
We've purposely limited our edition sizes to 50 - that includes any size and media. If you're an art collector, this means that there will never be more than 50 of any image sold - this is rare in photography, but also means that several beachradish images® are getting close to being sold out! If you like "Sherbet" or "Docked" ... this is your chance to purchase them at Art Show prices!
And ... metal ... have you seen the brushed metal? The image is printed directly onto the metal - so the image changes depending on where you are standing and how the light in the room changes. Available in 12"x18" or 20"x30", framed or unframed. Only 20 of each image on metal will be produced.
And last, but not least, canvas giclées - come see one of our newest images, "Sine Waves", available as a 48"x24" giclée, 1.5" gallery wrapped piece.
As always, we will have open edition prints (framed or matted only), and smaller, framed limited edition prints. We have something for every budget, so if there is something you like, please stop by and say hi! As always, don't hesitate to CONTACT me if you have any questions.
TENT SPACE #946 at the northeast corner of State and Grand Streets
Our first show north of Encinitas and we are excited to meet new faces and welcome back those of you who come visit every show (thank you!). Many of you may have also seen beachradish images® at BLISS 101, and here is your chance to see some new images along with old favorites.
We will have new limited edition prints on Arches® fine art watercolor paper - if you are not familiar with Arches®, it is a textured archival fine art paper used by watercolorists and painters. Printing Marine Layer or First Impressions images on this paper contributes to the painted look and brings additional warmth to the images. They really do look amazing. These are 16"x24" prints, custom framed in reclaimed barn wood, with UV glass. Final framed dimensions 23"x31".
"Sine Waves" will be available for the first time on canvas - this 48"x24" piece is warm, peaceful, and the texture of the canvas adds even more warmth. It's also one of the few panoramic First Impressions Collection images, and the only one on canvas.
Finally, we have some brand new acrylic face mount images, available with or without reclaimed barnwood framing. Unframed sizes are 12"x18" or 20"x30"
Hope to see you there! If you have any questions about what will be available at the show, please don't hesitate to CONTACT me.
Join us at the North Park Festival of the Arts - it's a new festival for us, and we're looking forward to the great vibe and positive energy of North Park! We will be in tent space A16 on the corner of University Avenue and Ohio Street. Enjoy the Craft Beer Block representing over 30 breweries, and learn why San Diego is the craft beer maven!
We have a NEW piece, "Sine Waves", that will be shown here for the first time - available as a 36" acrylic face mount. Large (30"x20") and small (18"x12") acrylic face mounts of many of the First Impressions images, including Day Break, Solo, and A Shore, will also be available.
I just signed a 30"x20" acrylic face mount of "Seek" - number 1/50. It's the first time we've done a Color Blind image with acrylic face mount, and the colors (yes, colors!) are amazing. Subtle earth tones and hints of warm pink add to the pensiveness of the image. And yes, those are paw prints in the foreground - a quiet Dog Beach morning.
There will also be some new Color Blind pieces on brushed aluminum - the 12"x18" versions sold out at ArtWalk a couple of weekends ago. Framed or unframed, the brushed aluminum lends an ambience to the image that changes with light and position. Super cool!
Finally, if you can't decide which image to take home, 8"x12" open edition matted prints will be also be available! Hope to see you there!
This is the event that started it all for beachradish images®! We donated 3 images last year - all of which sold - in order to ensure that folks understood whose art they were buying, we set up a website and it snowballed (in a good way) from there.
One year later, we put it to our Facebook fans to select their favorite image for this year's donation. By an overwhelming 69% of the total vote, "Saturday" won:
This image is taken in Del Mar, from Dog Beach. Those of you who know me, know that Elvis (my 3.5 year old lab mix) is my tried and true photo partner. This was a field trip for him outside our usual haunt. I think this image typifies a San Diego Saturday -bright light, palm trees swaying, dogs playing, satisfaction after a morning surf session, and people on the beach - all appreciating and reveling in the coastal environment in which we are fortunate enough to play.
The image will be presented as a 12"x18" limited edition archival print, matted and framed in reclaimed barn wood with a final dimension of 22"x28".
We will also be donating another surf- and ocean-inspired image … but we're keeping quiet on that for now. We'll let you know more as the date approaches! Tickets to the event are $60 per person, includes drinks and appetizers, and a live concert from San Diego native, Tristan Prettyman. Proceeds go to support the San Diego Surfrider Foundation - come cruise the aisles of beach-, surf-, and ocean-themed works that include painters, wood-workers, photographers, and more!
San Diego's premiere art show! TENT SPACE 565 on Date Street between Columbia and State Streets, just off India. There are some new images, including "A Pier", of which I'm really proud - they'll be shown here for the first time!
New First Impressions images on acrylic face mount in sizes 12"x18" and larger - old favorites will be up, too! We will take special orders for large sizes (up to 7 feet depending on the image).
And! Introducing our new brushed metal limited edition print series. A new beachradish images® media, they provide a tactile dimensionality to some select ColorBlind images. Available 12"x18" or larger, and can be inlaid in reclaimed barn wood framing.
Finally, we have some custom framed images on Arches® watercolor paper (200 year archival quality). These are 24"x16" images matted and framed using conservation archival materials, framed in olive tree wood or sustainable grey weather timber from New Zealand.
So come check it out! We'll be taking special orders for any image and media, and we'll have our full image library for you to look through. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to CONTACT me!
Dexter's Deli (Del Mar) has graciously invited us to be a guest artist as they celebrate the success of their holiday drive to benefit:
The Rescue House
Synergy Rescue & Rehab
Come celebrate with light refreshments and music, all for a fantastic cause!
We'll be showing some limited edition Elvis prints to celebrate! Come check it out!
We've been very graciously invited as a Guest Artist in the Portraits4All Studio in Barracks 19 at NTC Liberty Station this Friday, December 6th. In the holiday spirit, there will be carolers, and guitarists, wine, and fun - if you're looking for some unique holiday gifts, this should be an evening well spent!
We will have matted & framed 8"x12" prints (in reclaimed barn wood frames), and unframed matted 8"x12" and 12"x18" prints. If reclaimed barn wood doesn't complement your decor, the matted prints fit in standard sized 12"x16" or 18"x24" frames, so you can affordably match the image to your individual framing tastes.
In addition to the images available previously, images in this Event Post's gallery will be available for the first time in print. As always, if you have questions about specific images, or availability, please CONTACT me!
"Fun, Sun, and the 101!". We will be in Tent Space 955 on Hwy 101 between I and H street in downtown Encinitas! Have breakfast at Honey's or Swami's, and go for a stroll to see a variety of crafts and artwork, including beachradish images®! Admission is FREE. As always, we will have matted 8"x12" and 12"x18" prints, along with the much loved reclaimed wood frames. The 8"x12" are a good size for holiday gifts, as are the 12"x18" acrylics.
Please click on the images below to see availability and media. If there is an image you've seen on our Facebook page or on our website, and you don't see it here, please CONTACT me. We will be taking commission and custom orders that day as well!

Paired with the print is a one hour personalized photography session with Nicole to create a commissioned one-of-a-kind image in her impressionist style.

They'll be up for a while, so if you're in the neighborhood, please stop by and check them out! As a way of giving back to the environment and surroundings that have inspired not only my, but countless others', photography, a few beachradish images have been donated to the Surfrider Foundation's San Diego Chapter Art Gala. Whether you live in the US or abroad, if you love our planet's coastline and beaches, check out The Surfrider Foundation: "The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves, and beaches ... " And if there isn't yet a chapter where you live, start one! Jim (my better half) helped start chapters in Connecticut and Minnesota. Follow your passion!
